Healing nectar in a jar

Motu Mānuka Honey

Our Bees🐝

Honey bees love remote bush.

Surrounded by native bush as far as the eye can see, motu mānuka bees pollinate the mānuka flowers and reap the benefits when the nectar is ready to harvest.

Our kids think of them as pets, I watched my son stroke a bee the other day.

Sustainability

Motu means Island in Te Reo Maori and other Polynesian languages. Our honey comes from Aotea or Great Barrier Island, where sustainability is essential.

We consider our carbon footprint every step of the way, including the glass jars for the honey you purchase.

Any profits from honey sales support our mahi (work) on the land, the logistics of living on an Island are plenty!

Caring for the land

Our whānau (family) are committed to eradicating pests, regenerating native bush and bringing back the birds on the rugged, remote, Hiwitahi Sanctuary.

We‘ve found cutting tracks, planting flowering natives and trapping helps the birds and the bush thrive.
